In today’s issue, I want to teach you 3 tips for creating professional web designs.
You want the design of your website to accurately reflect who you are as a business. This will help convert more customers and generate high-quality leads.
Unfortunately, most people pick a template that they “like the look of” and use that. This can lead to a design that doesn’t fit your brand.
This can make it hard for people to wrap their heads around. They look at websites they like and try and replicate that. There is an inherent problem with this method.
You aren’t your ideal customer.
You want to create designs that speak to them, not you.
There is hope though!
Here are 3 easy tips that you can implement to make your website design look professional.
White space creates room for your content to breathe, which in turn makes it more readable.
When you cram content and design too closely, you make the content hard to consume. You want your visitor to be able to read each section and let the impact of what you wrote for them sink in. You can do this by creating more space between each section of your website.
I see so many websites trying to use too many colors. This creates a design that does not look cohesive. You want to create a design that meshes seamlessly with your content.
To do this, I recommend sticking to one accent color. An accent color is a color you use to make a CTA stand out. Use this sparingly, but when you do it will stand out to your website visitor.
For all the other colors try to use shades of a couple of base colors.
Design hierarchy tells your visitors what is most important in the section they are viewing. It’s important to do this because if everything looks important this overwhelms your user. It’s similar to marking every email urgent. If all emails are marked urgent, it no longer has any value.
You can create a design hierarchy by using font weight, size, and color. These are a few tools to help you create a visual design hierarchy.
If you use these tips you will elevate the design of your website. The goal is to create professional-looking websites. You don’t need the fanciest design. Professional-looking websites will convert.
